And so began this journey to God’s heart with a single step, a heart devoted to God, to show his love and light to a dark world in need of love. A single step of faith, calling out to God in the midst of my own darkness, and searching for His light for my life again. It began when I was six or seven years old and decided I wanted to be a missionary to the Amazon jungle in Brazil. It began when I boarded a plane for South Africa and Mozambique to take the light of love to countries devastated by racist policy and civil war. It began when I took my first missions trip to Mexico, and learned to love the Mexican children, even as their poverty broke my heart. It began when I found that photography was a passion of mine, and that it was one of the best tools to communicate to the western world the reality of poverty in developing nations.
This journey began with a simple “yes” and a heart turned over completely to God, to know Him more and more, to love Him more and more.
